I have two easy course options for each level as well as the option to add additional hours if you still need support while you learn to knit. Each of these courses build on the one before but please let me know if you have some experience with knitting and I will tailor the courses to your needs. Please choose from the bulleted list below:
Knitting 101- Basic Washcloth
Washcloths may seem super basic but these suckers are super useful. Most knitters can tell you that they learned a lot from knitting these small squares. The possibilities are endless too since you can experiment with new stitches on a small scale and they make great gifts too. I still use washcloths I made years ago! In Knitting 101 I will begin with the very basics, such as how to hold the knitting needles and yarn, and then we will go over how to knit, casting on, binding off. This class is taught in English-style, but I will also demonstrate Continental-style if requested. Completion of this course will give you the foundation skills you need to get started! In this class you'll learn:
Knitting 102 - Ribbed Scarf
So washcloths are useful but I'm sure you wanted to learn to knit so that you could make awesome stuff to wear right? Maybe you saw something in a movie and wanted to make it. Great, you can totally do that! First let's learn how to knit a basic ribbed scarf. It's simple, warm, and super snuggly! Perfect for those 5 weeks of cool weather here in the desert or, better yet, send it to a friend in a colder climate. In Knitting 102, we'll be building on the skills you learned in 101 and we'll be knitting a garment that you can actually wear. For this class you should already know how to cast-on, knit and cast-off. In this class you'll learn:
Knitting 103 - Basic Beanie
